Important information for the use of essential oils
Essential oils are concentrated substances that are extracted from natural plant substances and can have side effects in the event of an overdose or incorrect use. Please therefore note the following information:
storage
Essential oils contain sensitive ingredients. These can react with environmental influences such as light, air, moisture and warmth or heat. Therefore, store the essential oils in a dry, well-sealed, cool place, protected from light. When storing the essential oils, keep them away from heat sources! We recommend storing them in the containers we provide. These are suitable for storing essential oils.
Keep the essential oils out of the reach of children!
dilution
Our essential oils are 100% natural and therefore highly concentrated. Even though this is a purely natural product, essential oils should not be used undiluted!
allergy risk
The natural ingredients in essential oils can cause allergic reactions (e.g. skin rash) in sensitive people. Before using essential oils, an allergy test can be carried out: To do this, apply 2 drops of essential oil to the inside of the elbow for about 2 to 3 hours and observe the affected area.
Important: If you are unsure or already suffer from a known hypersensitivity, always consult a doctor before use!
Application
Essential oils are generally only suitable for external use. In particular, avoid taking them internally by putting drops in the mouth, eyes or ears, and avoid applying them to mucous membranes! Some of our oils are skin irritants and are therefore only suitable as fragrance preparations. After applying certain essential oils (e.g. citrus fruits), the skin must not be exposed to the sun or a tanning bed for 24 hours, as these have a phototoxic reaction and can cause skin disorders (e.g. pigment spots). You can find more information on the relevant safety instructions for the essential oils.
Do not use essential oils without medical advice if you belong to the following groups:
pregnant women
babies and children
seriously ill or chronically ill people
epileptic
allergy sufferers
first aid measures
If the product has been used improperly or if you have noticed side effects, the following first aid measures are recommended:
Contact with EYES: Wash your eyes with plenty of water and seek medical advice in case of severe redness!
Contact with SKIN: To wash the essential oil from your skin, you can wash the skin with soap and water and/or gently rub the affected area of skin with a greasy oil (e.g. almond oil, jojoba oil or common olive oil, rapeseed oil, etc.). If the redness or skin irritation does not go away or if inflammation develops, you should consult a doctor immediately!
If INGESTED: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Contact a doctor or Poison Control Center immediately. A Poison Control Center offers medical advice over the phone. Show the appropriate container or label of the ingested essential oil to the doctor or give the Poison Control Center a description of the label.
If the affected person has convulsions or is unconscious, keep the airways clear, place the person in the recovery position and call an ambulance!
